There was a thread where a person was selling a stereo cabinit and everyone was foucsed on the part of the car in the background and was wondering what it was.
So --here we go --- let's guess this car with a picture I took.
HINT --Picture is of the left rear door handle and the car is a 1994.

Heh, thanks! Something tangibly familiar about that handle, like I held it in my hand a few times. Maybe rode in a Town Car at a funeral or limo, don't know.

Anyway, with the detail you gave on the handle, including the curved plastic inside insert, the pinstripe, and the whitewalls, I first thought European, but then the whitewalls suggested big Detroit Iron. A quick look at some car photos nixed GM, next was Ford/Mercury/Lincoln. The Lincoln looked good from afar, plus the rear quarter edge panel kinda looked close. The pinstripe I think confirmed it for me. Then checked some advertised and ebay pics on replacement handles.

Nice Game, I'll bet ya SandyG would've got this one too!

94 Town Car Cartier Edition and Signature Edition, too bad so many of these have been converted to low riders and tasteless mods. Some great classic Dearborn iron there.

BTW, is it yours? Nice vehicle to have in Florida, probably plenty of them to if they haven't seen much rust.
 
Ok, in line with the first thread, can someone tell me the brand and size of the outboard motor this prop is on? Think 1960's :)

I now know the answer but only through sleuthing, not by knowing through knowledge or experience. I'll reserve posting till others chime in. Tough question though. Interesting how it has a relationship to the first question. :D

Good guess, however I will narrow it down a bit. This engine is in the "under" 100 hp range, and during the time before this manufacturer went to "thru-prop-hub" exhaust. The maker of this motor was the first company to do this :)
 
Ahh, I suppose I should spill the beans. :) Said prop was on an early 1960's Mercury "Merc 450" 45 hp. 4 cyl outboard. This was one of Mercury's many successful "Inline 4" varients. Twin Tillitson carbs (god help you if you ever got a "mite" of a spec of dirt in one), and at that time above water exhaust. The older Merc's would "howl" like no other brand comming accross a lake :) My family has owned several examples of Mercury 4 cyl's, a "Mark 30E" 30hp, even older than the one pictured, in addition to a "Merc 500 50hp" and a Merc "850" 85 hp model :)
