Neat. Dad had one like that for decades. His was a 40HP four and it was red. I think it was a 1958. He bought it from a hardware shop in Buzzards Bay, MA when he was a kid.

Yes, our Mark 30E was red and chrome as well. Only prob with those early 4cyl Mercs (aside from the finiky carbs) was that the lower gears were not stout enough for the power comming down to them. Ours went thru two sets of lower unit gears before my Dad traded it on a 1965 2cyl Merc 350 35hp model.
