Let's see some of your Tube Testers

Here is my recovered Hickock 6000 I got from Kara the Tube Wizard a while back. My Amplitrex is supposed to be here in about 2 weeks!

Not trying to thread crap here, but I took my TV-3 to her for repair and calibration a couple summers ago. She lives about a mile up the street from me. People know her mainly for Hickok repair, but she is a heck of a designer also. Her company is DeHavilland Electric Amplifier Co. She has a nice CNC mill in her garage that she makes all her chassis with. Her webpage is here http://www.dehavillandhifi.com/Products%20Page.htm

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Hello!

She is very knowledgeable. It was definitely an interesting experience. Jim McShane recommended I get my tester from her. I am in the Portland area so it was a no brainer for me. Back to your scheduled programming.

That's some very big Tube testers :D Nice testers, You should get some socket savers in them though. I had to change sockets in a tv7 and it was something like 49 wires. a real pain in the ass.

Where do you get socket savers?

And if inserting/removing tubes will wear a socket, how are the socket savers immune from that?

Feebay, hamfests, CL. Socket savers take the abuse so when they wear out all you need to do is get another socket save.

The Hickok gets used almost daily, the little Eico is used for compactrons, the precision just has very nice woodworking on it and doesn't see much use. The last one is military of course and does a nice job of testing the plates on rectifiers (the Hickok by design doesn't measure the plates equally on rectifiers). I have my very first, a Heathkit TC-1 (tube checker 1) but I wouldn't feel too good plugging it in without a going over. I want to build me a matching rig, but time is hard to come by.

Nice gear Jay..

Here's my new-to-me Dyna Jet 606 emissions tester. Great condition. Size of a lunch kit ! It's a good starter for me. :thmbsp:
