LG HT355SD Speaker Impedance

G4560

New Member
Hello. I recently purchased an LG HT355SD for dirt cheap at a local fair to replace my failing LG LH-T6540.
The new set uses (5 x 4Ω) speakers and (1 x 8Ω) Woofer. However, the speakers on the T6540 set sounded much better, so I was wondering if I can hook up the older speakers to the new set without much, if any, modifications (this includes connecting speakers in parallel/series).
The old speakers are (5x 8Ω) speakers and (1 x 4Ω) Woofer.
On the back of the 355SD the impedance is 4Ω for speakers and 8Ω for the Woofer.
From what I've gathered, what I should absolutely not do is to connect the 4Ω Woofer to the 8Ω output unmodified.
Is there a way to add 4Ω of resistance to the 4Ω Woofer, and reduce 4Ω from every speaker? I can solder. Diagrams would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
