Looking For An Automatic Turntable

I've seen DP-47Fs with date stickers from the late '90s, and here is one with a date sticker from 2000. They were probably rare post early '90s, but do seem to have hung around in the product line for quite a bit longer.
 
The only Denons that look decent are the DP-33F and DP-37F.

I have found a Thorens TD-316 with a split plinth, Sony PS-X6, Micro Seiki DD-30 with no headshell or cartridge. Don't know how hard it would be to find a headshell, Sanyo Q-60 said to be made by Micro Seiki.

Not familiar with any of these models.

These are lower-grade units than the DP-47F, just thought I would mention that. Denons of that vintage follow the numbering as far as features and "high endedness" goes.

What is your budget? You have said what is too high, but no mention of an actual range?

Good! stay clear of those. An automatic TT is a delicate piece of mechanical engineering. You buy a used one - and it's very likely it would need some service. If it's of a good quality, like the classic Duals, Denons and Technics TT's, and you approach a good reliable tech, it's an easy, trouble free maintenance that shouldn't be too expensive. On the other hand, if it's a crappy low end plastic fantastic TT you'll need new shafts, cams, bearings and parts with questionable availability.

So far, you got some real good advice here in this thread and for some reason, it seems to me you keep sliding down toward the low end extremes. You really can't always judge a TT by it's looks. Did you define a budget? You really can't be helped without it.

I am fully aware of the advice that has been given, and I am seeing what's available. So far, none is showing up that are available, or they need some work. I'm looking for a plug and play, no repair nightmare. Don't be too quick to think that I am not doing anything. If it's available, I am taking it into consideration.
 
UPDATE:

Those who have made recommendations, I am checking to see what is available. So far,

The Denon 47F is out due to needing work or located in Europe.

Technics is becoming spotty, either needing work or their asking too much.

B&O is out due to excessive maintenance.

With that said, what is available are...

Pioneer PL-540
Technics SL-QL1
Sony PS-X5
Pioneer PL-L1000 - May work but no cart, headshell, or mounting screws

If there is more to consider, I am open to recommendations.
 
There is no turntable that is plug and play - even new one. Each requires ant least some tuning (like cartridge adjustment). There is no new automatic tables even remotely comparable with what you can get for $500 made in 1980s. Honestly I think if you do not want to get really involved in tuning turntable, you should NOT buy one. Autmatic table is not "mantenance free". It just allow you play vinyl with simple press of a button. All things like cartridge alingment, setting VTA, SRA, azimuth, balance are still there just like in fully manual table. If you cannot install cartridge on table by yourself, just do not bother with vinyl at all.
 
I have a QL-F4 that I'll let go for 75 bucks with the JVC headshell but no cart. The dustcover needs to be polished out, but the table itself works fine. I'm in Frederick MD, where are you in WV?
 
I am located between Charleston and Huntington. Other than the dustcover, any work that needs done? Send me some clear pictures to my email and I will check it out and let you know.

I'll work on the pics. There is a rubbed spot on the left side of the plinth. The table itself works fine. I think the dustcover top could be fine sanded & then polished out to look good. I used Grado Gold, Denon DL 110 and OM - 20 carts with nice results.

I see that you are not familiar with B&O turntables. I have 12 Beogram turntables. I purchased the first one in 2005, and not a tiny bit maintenance was necessary since then.

As a matter of fact, I used to own a B&O turntable back in the 1970s. Most of these turntables will need servicing soon. Most of the ones I have seen have not been serviced, and it could be a nightmare. Cartridges are proprietary and expensive.

I would really love to own another B&O. Wish I could remember the model number, but that was the best turntable I ever owned. However, it's becoming too risky to try to find one that doesn't need any work.

These cartridges work great for a small eternity - and when this eternity is over you may retip them (top qualitiy retipping) in Germany for about 90 dollars.

But I do not want to discuss these turntables here anymore. (You guys don't like them and that is okay. We are living in a free world.) Beogram discussion is not the topic of 4play's thread.

It may be cheap for you in Germany, but in the US there is only one place that works on B&O and sells cartridges and that is Soundsmith. I invite you to check out their website and see for yourself.
