Hello all,
I’ve cleared out a huge amount of speakers and I’m currently running dual NAD 2400s with PSB Strauss Golds. I’m not in love with them, and I’m thinking of building a set of DiY floor standers. My friend is a master carpenter and my other friend has a cnc machine, so I feel it’s dumb not too!
I previously had a 2nd hand pair of Alpair Super Pensil speakers, but didn’t like the single driver sound a ton. I have a large listening space (25x25) and would prefer a big, detailed sounding speaker. Something like the Klipsch Belles or Dahlquist DQ-20, which were a previous favorite speakers of mine.
My only requirement is that I’m limited to about 15” wide on form factor as these sit on either side of a projector screen
I’d like to keep at as cheap as possible, but let’s say $1000 or less is the build budget for drivers and materials. The lower the better!
