Looking for small integrated amp for drum teaching studio

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. New member here. I've been trying to find a small integrated amp (with treble and bass controls) for a teaching studio/practice room. I'd be using Mission MS-50 6 ohm, or Yamaha NS-10 8 ohms speakers for playback from an ipad or CD, and would like to have at least 30 to 40 watts per channel available if not more. It looks like the only options are vintage integrated amps which are large (16-18" wide), or small cheep amps from Pyle, Lepai etc. I'd love to find a small footprint amp that has enough power to drive smaller speakers so my students would be able to play drums along with music. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I'd like to keep it around $250.00. Probably looking for a used piece, unless I can find something that fits my criteria for around $200.00.
 
Pay the $25 for membership here and adjust your integrated amp budget down $25. It will be worth it to gain access to Bartertown.

JoeESP9, I'd rather stay away from anything that could get smashed of kicked by young kids flailing around the room, and moving things around. Tubes are cool but I'd be afraid the thing would get destroyed! Thanks though, I appreciate the suggestion. looks like a nice piece and has the right wattage.
 
Thanks for the link. The Teac looks great, only thing missing are treble and bass controls. I don't know why companies did away with tone controls. I use them on my playback amp in my recording room. Sometimes I need to emphasize lower frequencies, or higher freqs to hear certain musical instruments better in the mix.
 
It includes a DSP based loudness control and a subwoofer out connection. If you must have tone controls many newer pieces are out of the question.
 
Marantz 1060. Very vocal and will probably outlive anything built in the past 20 years.

Chris, if you have two sets of speakers and want to play both sets at the same time, the Sherwood RX-5502 is the ideal solution. Reason for this is you get 4 full range amplifiers rated at 100 wpc @ 4 ohms in a single box.

Huge advantage of this unit for powering multiple sets of speakers THAT ARE NOT IDENTICAL, is with independent amps you can adjust volumes for each set independently. Problem of course is your speakers will have different efficency levels and one set will dominate the other.

Now, Chris, if you have no desire to use both speaker sets simultaneously, the Sherwood would clearly be over kill and I would recommend a lower cost alternative.

This one has only about 10 watts (claims 20 watts, but...), and sounds considerably better with the tone controls off. Parts Express has it for $24 now.

You could buy 2 and have a spare on hand. :)
 
I happen to own four different Grace Digital units, a radio, Two tuners and a radio/amp. I haven't had any problems other than a bad power surge that was caused by lightning muddled the brain of one of the tuners. It lost some memory stations, but still works. That integrated amp by Grace looks good as does the Parts Express amp. If you don't mind going up in size a bit the Yamaha R-S202 receiver is very nice. I have the R-S201 receiver and it is a sweet unit, also at a low price. Good luck!
