Lost a Good Friend today

chard306

IT'S ME, IT'S ME...IT'S..
Had to do something I really did not want to do today. We had to put down our dog of 12 years. Rambo was a great dog, an Italian Greyhound (a miniature Greyhound) with a great personality. But he was ill for awhile and recently could not walk without pain and stopped eating. So to stop his pain we had to put him down, hit me harder then I could have ever imagined. Will miss my little buddy.
RIP Rambo

So sorry friend. I know how hard a decision that is, but it was the right one. He's chasing things and running like the wind now..

Sometimes it's really hard to do what you know needs to be done. Especially when it comes to our pets.
My thoughts and condolences go out to you and all who knew him.

Hate to hear that. Always tough to lose a 4-legged family member...I'm STILL torn up over losing Junior, the Dobermann, back in '93..But you gotta KNOW that you did the right thing for him, & spared him suffering...

It's a much greater lose than many people can imagine.
Please let your love for Rambo guide you to another beloved true friend.
Also consider adopting or a rescue. Which ever you chose to do, you will not regret it.

My belief is that a dog is not merely man's best friend, he's man's only friend.

As an avid dog lover, I feel you.

Got Budah, my pound-found pit bull, over 10 years ago. He's 12, gray muzzle, sleeps and farts.

And I love him so.

Don't be sad it is over; be glad it happened.

Best of luck.

I, too, am sorry for your loss. You are among many friends here on AK that know all too well what you are going through.

Rest in peace Rambo. And peace be with you chard306.

We're so very sorry to hear.
Please accept out heartfelt condolences.
We had to have out previous Yorkshire Terrier put to sleep in our arms.It is indeed truly heartbreaking.

Thank you all for your kind words, I know we did the right thing, the house feels so empty now.
My wife has stated the process of looking for our next dog, but there will never be a new Rambo.
Again thank you all.

One of the saddest, and most difficult things I've had to do. Very sorry to hear.

"next dog" is the best idea. I carried a 13 year old Bassett into the vet on the last day. Week later we got the rescue lab in my avatar. Keep getting them and keep caring for them.

Sorry for your loss.
