Lost and Found

I had to look up "metanoia" on wikipedia:

"In Carl Jung's psychology, metanoia indicates a spontaneous attempt of the psyche to heal itself of unbearable conflict by melting down and then being reborn in a more adaptive form."

I can see how giving up a 5,000 LP vinyl collection could precipitate this.

Great story, and a fine set of albums by Eno and friends.

Maybe I should start a "Your favorite falling asleep records" thread to compare notes with what other guys use for the last listen of the night.

'Round these parts, it is likely Meddle. Most cats fall asleep and start dreaming of lumbering dinosaurs in the middle section of Echoes.

As for PM's Eno stash, kudos for playing them one-by-one.

I'm particularly fond of the first side of Eno and Fripp's No Pussyfooting.

I only gave away about 1700 LPs before I broke down. Eighteen 12x18 boxes, as I recall.

Ah, only 1700 LP's -- I guess that would be only moderately psyche-shattering.

The albums you posted prompted me to listen (on youtube) to the wondrous title track from "Evening Star" -- I think I need this album.

I have gotten rid of many things and wished later that I hadn't, but none have ever found their way back to me. Must be a great sensation, PM.

Some great albums there. A point of reference...2013 is the 30th anniversary of the Eno, Lanois & Eno album "Apollo". It was Roger Eno's first "professional" album.
