There is a Luxman L-1 integrated and T-2 tuner available locally. I cant find anything on them, but I've been wanting to try some luxman gear for a while. Guy is asking about $100 bills. what do you think? The amp is 35wpc I believe.

I'm a fan of Luxman, I don't know much about these pieces other then they are early 80's. If they are in good condition might be worth it. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

Here's some info on the T-2
T-2

Entry level Luxman, IIRC. Haven't heard these, but every Luxman I have heard has been very nice.

I might do it, but I'd feel better if the price were a bit lower.

hmm, normally, I'm not huge on 80's gear, as it tended to go plastic and cheap. but these were made in Japan. did they go through the same thing. I suppose they did when I look at sansui. what do you guys see as a fair price for these if I go for it? I dont know a lot about luxman models, and there is not a lot on these online. I think the amp must have been a european model, as the model number does not really show up. but I've been wrong before.

I'll have to look into the R-11x models. I'm also running some polks.

The R-11x models are solidly built in Japan and deceptively powerful. There is a lot of love on this forum for the R-11x models. What kinda polks?

I am a Luxman Collector. Regardless the units you buy from the 70's right through to the 90's you can expect sweet sound. The build quality I believe suffers do to the technology they tried to jam in every unit but I guess that is the price you pay for awesome Luxman Sound.

Hey,

Im running RTA 11TL's, Polk PSW 350 sub right now. I plan on running them with the yamaha cr2020, but it has been under repair for a while. so I'm running it with a nakamichi av2, which isnt great, but it will do for now, because it has a remote. lol. its a two channel set up.

so again, what do we feel is a fair price to try out the luxman combo? when the guy gets back to me, I want to be ready with something.

The Luxmen

I just read that there are two Luxman T-2 tuners. One from the mid 1980s, and one from the 1970s. If the L-1 is any indication, the seller's tuner could be the older version.

I'm biased; as far as Luxman goes, the machines from the Me decade are better than the one that followed in my humble opinion.
Regarding the amp, I've had trouble with bad channels in these. Hopefully both work well on that L-1.

Hope this helps.

Nice speakers!!!, that Yammy has the power, hopefully you'll find a Luxman that can provide the oomph for those speakers.

Sounds like a fair deal, I would push for 80 but if it is exceptionally clean:scratch2: I might spring. Tuner seems to be the best part resale wise. Maybe 80-120. The integrated probably 80-100, but all that depends on who wants it at the time. I did have the set once 5 years ago and thought it sounded pretty decent.
Interesting the lux`s with the duo B circut seems more desirable.

The tuner is a nice sounding but basic 3 gang. Nice look and feel. For $100 the pair is not a bad deal, nice sound for the money not for flipping at a profit. I would try for a bit lower.

thanks man.

I think i might pass on this luxman setup. I dont want to really mess with something less than awesome. I dont really need a tuner, so I should pass. I might start looking into a luxman pre.

thanks all.
