Luxman R-404 User Manual

I just got my Luxman R-404 and do not have a user manual for it. I can't create an account with Hi-Fi Engine to get it. Is there anyone that could post the pdf of the manual so I could print it?

Really liking this little receiver. It sound very nice, and doesn't forget the station presets now that it's been run a bit.

Yes, It's a nice sounding little receiver for sure, I have the black face version R-104, it has the station amnesia though.

That is probably a 5V .47F (not µF) capacitor on the board. Shouldn't be too hard to change.

Some units used rechargeable batteries but the cap is more common. Anywhere from 0.047F to 1.0F but generally 5V or so.

Even those mid-80s Luxman receivers sounded good. One of the things they liked to evaluate, sound quality and build units that sounded good.

yes, i remember a post about that a few years back I should have done it when I had it all apart last year chasing a cold solder joint when the display was intermittent.

The SM for the R-405 (a friend has one and I changed its cap) shows a .047/5.5V that I think is mismarked as uF when it should be F. On the 405 it is C9323. But I found it on the board it is a bigger cap and frequently a different color, aqua/teal on some units.

Well, it does forget the stations. If I don't play it over a day or so, it forgets. It's annoying, but I'm not sure I could fix it. I have soldered, but jewelry, with a torch. I assume a torch is not the proper tool for circuit boards. Don't know how far I'd have to take it apart, and how hard it is the do. Wish there was someone close to me in Green Bay that could do it.

I am sure you can mod the board for a new memory chip!! I have a 106 great sounding and plan to do just that
