Luxman RX-101 Receiver "Suckface" Repair Details as of 2020

Huh, I didn't realize that about the rx101.

There's an "interesting" YouTube video on repairing a servoface....from "Kitchen table repair doctor":
Just get through it, there's good info on the take apart.

I have a copy of blog with a step by step repair, cleanly done, but I can't find it.
When I do I'll pass it along.
Hi, did you ever find that copy with step by step repair?

Picked up a very well kept RX-102. Excellent condition, minus "suckface" repair. I believe I've got the appropriate belts ready. Anyone have repair instructions they are willing to share?? Thanks so much!

Well... unfortunately, i ended up stripping all of the parts and boards out of my poor unit. I still have the majority of the parts if anyone is looking for something in particular. Most of it was in fairly decent shape while some of it was hit with water damage. The only thing really wrong (other than the servo belt like everyone else) was the main power supply transformer. It got taken out but most of the electronics and boards are probably fine once cleaned up and recapped in some small areas. I avoided cutting plugs except where those plugs were soldered onto the boards. Looking over it really closely, there are some rather nice components inside of this machine. I'm building a couple of Mono-block amplifiers using some of the parts from this to power a set of 'mini' Carver Amazing loudspeakers i've designed and built.

So, my Luxman RX-101 is shot... BUT, maybe... just maybe, it can be revived into something even more beautiful sounding. It, in it's day... was a wonderfully sounding machine.
