it would be dificult to find an unrestored unit, recap it, and add the wood case for under $800

price seems real fair. This is a nice amp. i like mine a lot. I am in the process of refurbishing some La Scalas and this will be my amp for them.

Got it! My first Mac.

Tested it with a pair of La Scalas and the cd player in the picture. Stuck in that corner with the speaker wires stretched to the limit and zero light, switching inputs was a major PITA! Testing to start soon with my series 1 Cornwalls. Let's see what this thing will do! Thanks for all the input folks, the AK community rocks.

I once had a 6100 and thought it sounded too dark on the McIntosh scale. I now have 1900 receiver that sounds more open and smooth.
