We’ve done gear polls & dollar polls, but I don’t recall seeing a Power Poll. What is the total rated power of your single largest Mac system? Include multi-channel amps if in use & powered subs if they are Mac. Let me just say, this Poll means absolutely nothing; it is meant solely for entertainment purposes only.

OK. I'll bite. My upstairs system now has 4400 watts (MC1.2KW x 2 for front left and right, MC501 x3 for front center and left and right side surrounds, and MC252 for left and right back surrounds). The powered sub is non-Mac (Velodyne DD-18, which has a 1250 watt amp), but you said I can't count that.
 
I have a mere 250W/ch. That's about 10% of what Ivan's running in his big system, with the new sub factored in. I get great enjoyment from my little amp, though.
 
MC501 trio

Three MC501's= 1,500 watts. Two channel system with "passive" sub. Main speakers and sub all MC501 powered. Can't imagine it sounding much better...:D

Last time I had the old 2300 on the bench it was dimming the lights at 425W per channel at the 1% THD start of clipping point.
 
2400 Watts here including PS112 sub, 2000 without in main system. 2 channels of the MC207 are powering WS350s in Zone B so didn't count those

I should have typed "with his new sub". I don't have one and don't feel the need for one. I do need some bass traps to get rid of a small amount of overhang in the bottom end, though.
 
I only have 350 watts of McIntosh power.

I guess if I am playing the Marantz, and the old Yamaha, at the same time, then that is another 225 watts, for a total of 575 watts.

Who am I kidding, I need more power!

If you have an MC352, isn't that 700 watts (350 x 2)?
 
Well my 1400 watts is a nice starter kit for where I want to be, which is a whopping 7,215 watts. :yikes: That is a result of my visit to Ivan's where I discovered there is NO substitute for power! :naughty:

Your right, 350w a side conservatively speaking, like all Mc Amps.

Guess my 3rd grade teacher is really upset with my math skills right now. :D
 
I'm either 150w from the 275 or 1000w from the 501s depending if it is tube week or solid state. I do feel short changed since I can't include the 3000w from the two JL F112s. :D
