Mach One 4024, 4024A, 4029 Information and Upgrades!

I want to upgrade the caps in my 4024's i have already done the mid horn mod by adding the felt pad and it helped a lot but i want to replace the og caps and was going to just get the matching uf's but figured i could do the vl ones and change the uf's, i can only afford to replace the caps right now, is it ok to change they're values to VL mod and skip replacing the coils for now? and if so will i still hear a difference?
Also could i use this stuff to coat the backs of the mid horns?

Ok cant edit the post but i think im just going to replace the og caps with same specs as i have read that changing the caps specs makes the speakers a little harder to drive and i like them being sensitive lol also think im going to use rope caulk instead of that liquid as it can be removed if i dont like the sound change

Any change will result in a sonic difference. Whether your ears will detect this, only you will know. You can do the chokes later, it's just easier to do it all at once. As for efficiency, the change is not that dramatic, unless you have a low power amp/receiver, like 50wpc or less. I had an STA-2000 and these speakers are loud even with only 10 watts.

im using a pioneer qx 747 in 2 channel mode so about 35 to 40wpc

its only about 16 x 14 feet so not big

The Mach 1s like power, especially after the mods. 75 wpc and up in my opinion for them to shine.
