This is a nice looking console. Were the turntables in these any good? I think they were Imperial Micromatics.

As long as the stylus was in good shape, the Collaro changers took very good care of records. Most had Electro-Voice cartridges in them,
although I've seen a few free standing ones that came mounted with mid-level Shures.

Thanks Celt. The ad says it has a newer needle. I'll be in Indy this weekend. I may take a look at it.

Looks to be in very good shape, it's probably been in a nice clean living room all these years and not out in storage. Like Celt said, the changers in those were pretty good and didn't harm records like some cheaper console changers did. Note that when you put a record on it and hit "auto" the tonearm moves over to check if a record is on the spindle and measure the record size. Sometimes people think the unit is broken when they see the tonearm move like that for the first time. Really well built table and neat to see in action.

Video of the Micromatic changer they were made in England by Collaro
this is an older one but it has the "feeler" type arm. The later 1960's & up one's tracked approx 2-3 grams they were considered one of the better console type changers in the day.

Does anyone really subject their vinyl to a console changer? I mean for nastalgia they are cool, but to actually use one when a much better table can be had cheap?
