Magnepan MG-1 Value?

I am the original owner of a pair of these loudspeakers, and I am wondering what they are worth (?). They have not been used in roughly 10 years and there is apparently a short in one of the speakers (no sound). that said, with the exception of the plain black bases (a few scratches), the frames (dark teak/walnut) and "socks" are in beautiful condition. I do not have the electronics experience to attempt a repair.

Probably not a short, but a break, most likely due to corrosion of the wires. A short would cause your amp to shut down (or burn up if it doesn't have any protection circuitry). Not uncommon with these old Magnepans. They can be fixed by a DIYer but the work is tedious, although not difficult. Both will probably need to be redone; in addition to corrosion, the wires on the panels have a tendency to delaminate. Inexpensive repair kits are available from Magnepan. Value in their current condition is probably no more than $100-$200, probably closer to the low end.
