Marantz 1150 - Need Help - Intermittent Fail - Heavy Static

So, I changed the relay and the caps on the relay board and I started using headphones since the pops are so bad the speakers freak. When listening with headphones, volume all the way down, speakers off, I hear a rumbling that was not really noticeable on the speakers. It starts as soon as the relay clicks in and seems slightly louder on the right channel than the left. Along with the rumbling, pops every now and then. The amp modules on this unit look like someone sprayed them with something, maybe the adjustment pots, but there seems to be a thin coating of something. I am hoping Bob sends me the properly matched transistors and then I hope to recap the power amps and see if it helps at all. Really don't want to invest too much in this unit, it has a homemade bottom that I fashioned and knobs that match but are incorrect. I only intended it for daily use and not as any kind of investment. Thanks!! Rich
