Hello All, I wanted to share this with you for your advice. I have had a marantz 2220B for 6 months and just loving it. I planned to recap the power supply board for its reliability but didn't have anything as good sounding to take it offline. I finally pulled it off the system and recapped the power supply board with all Nichicon gold capacitors with same capacitance and voltage ratings.
The voltage adjusted to 35V without any problem (it was 35.4 and I turned it to 35.0) and the onboard circuit regulates it without any issues. Then I connected my turntable and for the first time I am hearing some clicking/ticking sound like a helicopter flying overhead. I don't remember hearing it before but maybe it was because I never turned it up so high to listen for the noise. The aux input is just fine and this is only on the phono input. I wanted to ask you and see if anyone has had this experience and if I should be doing repairs on the photo circuit, thanks in advance.
