Capacitor manufacturers are making it easier for us to decide. There are no electrolytic audio capacitors in the market anymore. As for films, WIMA and Panasonic make good quality polypropylenes.

They are certainly difficult to find. And honestly as a newbie, it can be difficult to sort through all the nuances, which is why I'm glad I found this forum.

It is always better to use the correct capacitor in its intended application. A UPW cap is better suited for use in the power supply section of the circuit. However, an FG cap will also work in the circuit. Sometimes, you use what is available rather than having to purchase new capacitors to better match the application. A 2220B is a relatively low power receiver and there would be many capacitors that would work well in its power supply circuit however; it is best to use capacitors that are matched for use with the circuit application.

Thanks for the feedback. That seems to be the general consensus. Which is why I asked the question. When I did a google search it landed me on this tread, and it aligned with some other information that I researched. So I ended up finding some Nichicons LKGs with spade connectors and installed them, they are a bit taller but they fit without mods. It sounds pretty good through some Boston Acoustic bookshelf speakers. Probably could have found a UPW that worked, and save some $ in the process.
