Marantz 2245

[carpe-diem]

Any special to Marantz 2245? Up on ebay, they are $500+ and with a restored one can up to 1K.

What's the good price on a clean and restored 2245 locally?
Thanks.

No, they're not. The highest price for a completed one is $750 and that one was really fancy. Typically they go for between $300 and $500 for working and non-restored or lightly restored. Non-working are around $200. Locally I'd expect to pay $250-400 for a nice one that was unrestored and $500-700 for restored. While it's not a bad receiver, an over-the-top restoration is kind of a waste of money on a 45 WPC receiver, compared to putting the money into a higher-power Marantz.

Thanks. There is one locally but I am not sure if I should wait for a bigger.
