Marantz 2270 recap - Mouser and Digi importable BOMs

Thanks for the link, Tom. I read it and only half understood all
that stuff in there.

The key factor is not the hFE of H760, but the Vbe. At any time, the bias voltage is the sum of the Vbe of H760 and the forward voltage drop (Vf) of H761. In order to reduce the bias voltage we must find components with a lower voltage drop.

I looked at the datasheets of the MJE243 and the 2SD669.
As far as I can see from the graphs, there appears to be only a small
difference in Vbe between the two parts.

The thing is that the MJE243 came from a trusted source (Mouser)
while the 2SD669 are from a local place which sold me fake
2SC2240 transistors and hence I am wary of using it.

I've not used an MJE243 in that location, but I can't see why it wouldn't work. I have used 2SC495 types for this many times.

I scanned and converted the P750 and P800 boards parts list
from the Service Manual into an Excel sheet and found
it useful while debugging the issues I am facing with my amp.

The attachment may need to be renamed as an .xls file.

Folks, I updated the BOM attachments in the first posts, fixing
the things pointed out so far.

The Mouser part # for the 10,000uf main filter cap has been changed to
the 40mm part # pointed out by Ducati2 in the thread below -

http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=412167

I also added ring terminals recommended by EchoWars for the
filter caps.
I took a best guess at the Mouser part. If there is a better part # for these.
do let us know here.

Edit: P750 part list - Left and Right channels are now listed separately.

Marantz 2270 Cap Listing in Excel format

If anyone would like a nice Excel formatted 2270 listing with a pivot table, let me know. I only have the Digikey catalog numbers and pricing on the listing.

This web site seems to not allow XLS uploads. Otherwise I would have attached it.

Hi everybody, thanks to all of you for the great information on this thread. I'm doing a recap on my 2270 and it's been really a great help to have the BOM from Digikey. Now I'm working on the power amp board, but I'm missing the Digikey part numbers for C751 (1uF 100WVDC) and C757, C758 and C762 (.1uF 200WVDC), should I leave the old caps in or get new ones?
I'm new to electronics and I don't want to mess up this beautiful receiver, so any help getting the right parts would be apreciated!!
So far I searched on Digikey web and found this part numbres: P14633-ND and P4603-ND, are these the correct parts?
:scratch2:

They are films and do not need to be changed. If you did want to change them the ones you have choosen will not work. They have lead spacing of 10mm and 26mm. The .1uf has a lead spacing of 22.5mm and for the 1uf a axial film cap of approx. 32mm fits nice. I have done it, but it is totally not necessary. There is also a .22uf film cap on the board.

Changed from Excel to a PDF. Not as flexible, but...usable. Please review for any errors or updates. Let me know and I can edit the original.

Tulsa Tom, great job. Thanks!
I am attaching an Excel version of your PDF - rename the
attachment from a .doc to a .xls extension.
(I converted Tulsa Tom's PDF via a freeware OCR program - beware of errors).

Hey guys, I think I found an error:

# P200 FM IF Amp

667-EEA-FC1E100 7
667-EEU-FC1H4R7 2 <=== mine had three of these...

Hello, all. Just curious about the specs on the large filter caps and the 2 additional ones indicated as bypass caps. I noticed that the schematic in the service manual indicates c007 and c008 as 6800uF, but the parts list in the manual specs 9000uF for these caps. Seems like everyone's adhering to that number, but then again it's a less common cap at 9000uF so we're going for 10000uF in the BOM presented here. Still, that's a 47% increase in capacitance from 6800. We're ok with that, right?

Also, just wanted to make sure that each of the 2.2uF bypass caps is to be installed in parallel with each of the big guys.

VD1212 is a varistor at H709 usually between the two trimmers on the phono board. Looks like a little blob of epoxy.
