Don't usually like black faced receivers. But I must say your work is awesome!!! Would like to see a post on a step by stepon the front panel...

Me too!

I received mine from Tony as well. I'm lovin' it! My 2275 has a complete restoration from member Catrafter of Vintage Electronics Repair, Tony's black faceplate, and a custom WC22 case. I'm a happy camper now.

Thanx Tony.

I also have the original bulbs (non-led) in my 2275, which now sports a new black faceplate. The original faceplate was a little dinged up, and so this is a nice option.

When removing the original faceplate, one of the screws popped it's top! So, I need to find some replacements. I'm thinking of finding a black version - any ideas?

Looking good !!!! On the black nuts you would have to buy a set of aluminum originals maybe from eBay and have them anodized black.

PLEASE DON'T BREAK ANY OF THE PUBLIC FORUM RULES BY ASKING ABOUT BUYING AND SELLING. Thank you so much.

Now just wanted to show you guys another one of my european creations. I started with a very clean 2275. Removed the metal case. Had it professionally stripped and powder coated (fine texture black). Removed the faceplate and created one of my new anodized black with white lettering. No harm was done to this Marantz, all original parts still exist. Thanks.

This unit is absolutely beautiful!! I have a 2275 in the pressed wood caninet, ok condition...some corners are chipped with scratching...where can i find a black metal "euro" housing? I have found the black faceplates on Ebay, but no black cabinet housings. Please help?

I have been trying to get the black to come out right, but it keeps turning out wrong, i'm not sure what i am doing wrong here..

Try more gasoline and a longer burn cycle! (Just kidding here!) The black cases I know about are from Germany and are wood based. Tony AKA TMZ2 has bought some and hopefully will be back soon with the name of the company he got them from.

Also... Welcome to AK!!

I bondo'd up a rough wood 2325/2330 case and gave it a $5 spray job. It looked nice, but i never use it because of the heat that it held. I am inspired again from seeing Tony's beauty to mount some quiet fans inside.
I am also glad to see the aftermarket wooden cabinets coming down in price. They are nice looking, with a silver face, but nothing beats the black ones, in my opinion.
The stock metal cheap wood look isn't fooling anyone.

Here is a German website that has nice units , but since my grandpa died before i was born, i cannot speak the language.

If you are looking for a black lacquer cabinet, you might look at the German website that I found through KutzlerTrans' link. Google Chrome will translate for you. This may be the same German seller I bought my WC22 repro from on eBay. I bought several WC22's from Marantz in the 70's. One each for a 2230, 2245 and 2270 plus a Cassette Deck (5020?). Sold it all over the years. Now I have a 2270, and I bought this case from Germany. To my memory, the originals were more brown like this one - less red in their finish. Or possibly they made more than one kind. Anyway, I like this case a lot.

Photos of the case I bought on eBay, delivered from Germany - 3-4 weeks shipping:

Yep that's the ones I use the path wings reproduction WC 22 piano black case and when I'm not using that I took the metal cases had them professionally stripped and Powder Coated a light texture black gives it a nice look.

Wow. Beautiful either way. I'll bet loading that heavy thing in the case without scratching it is a pucker inducing experience.
