Marantz 2325 Completely Converted to LED's!

2325 lamp requirement

On the Marantz 2325 you need:

(9) 8v bipin lamps for function indicator and dial pointer
(8) 8V fuse lamps for dial and meter lamps

For further info, you can contact Northridge Electronics at hadrian333@yahoo.com.

Just installed new LED's, but....

the tape 1 and tape 2 aren't coming on. The selector has been cleaned and deoxed, checked diode direction and they checked out. Any thought's on where to look? Thanks

Problem with tape 1 and tape 2 LED's

If tape 1 and tape 2 are working I think the switches are good. If you purchased the Northridge Electronics LED's, they are nondirectional so polarity should not matter. If they are Northridge Electronic's LED's, I would take them out of the circuit and test them with a 12V power source and make sure they are good. If not, you could have overheated them and damaged the surface mount circuitry built into the base of the lamps. If the LED's are good, verify that the printed circuit board that they are mounted on has no solder bridge across the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. If all is good, power up the receiver without the lamps in place and read the voltage across the pins where the lamps go in. If you have sufficient voltage across them, you can resolder the bipin LED's back in its place and retest them.

I converted a 2275 to LED's and I must admit I preferred the look of the original bulbs, to me the LED's are a bit too sharp. I favored the warm glow of the originals, just my 2 cents...

Great job on the LED conversion hadrian333. It looks way better! I converted my 2252 about 7 years ago, to LED's. I wanted to go all out on this receiver because it was resurrected from the dead. I went to by a Akia reel to reel
for sale from a guy on CL, and when I was looking at other things he had for sale, I asked him if he had any
Marantz equip. and he said I have a buried 2252 in the front corner of my garage. So he said if I dug it up I could have it. I thought this guy was kidding, but he wasn't. We walked out to his garage and sure enough, there it was buried in the ground for at least 25 years or more!
I could see about half an inch of the faceplate sticking out of the ground. So
he handed me a small garden spade and I started carefully digging it out of
it's grave. Finally I got it home and spent two years restoring this poor
Marantz. 2 years later, with lots and lots of work, she looks great. 1 flaw is the broken knob/post for the balance control. I never use it anyways but I want to find a replacement and repair it. Here is a picture of my 2252 and my MR255(1550). I left the MR255 original lamps in it.

I also installed two super bright blue LED's on the top and bottom of the gyro. image.jpg
