Marantz 2325 or 2275

So I have a Marantz 2275 and quite happy with it. But those 2325's offer a good bit more power and oh so pretty. Has anyone had both and offer thoughts on the musicality of each? Will the 2325 be a big step up?

Ya it will be a step up, but it will also need to be serviced. I really like my 2325 so if you need more power, go for it and get it serviced or restored.

I have both a 2275 and 2325 (and a 2230 and 2230B) Love them ALL. The 2325 is all the 2275 is and a lot more. The power and Dolby are great. If you are looking to rock the house, the 2325 will do it.

I'd say 2275 goes to 10 and 2325 goes to 11!

(I saw and heard a Model 500 in my youth, it went to 25!)

Curious - I have a 2325 that I've just finished restoring (99% recapped and LEDs) but have not yet fit into the rotation.
When you say that the Dolby is great I must ask, just what do you use it for in this day and age?

IMO, they are both great machines, and it really depends on the speakers you are driving with them, some less efficient ones will benefit from the 2385, whereas, really efficient ones will be superb with the 2275. I powered my Cerwin Vega 380SE's with my 2275 and they sounded wonderful right up to the 75 WPC rating of the little monster. Also depends on your taste of sound, if you like alot of bass, then it'd be practical to go with the bigger 2385, but if you like "neutral" sound, without any enhancement or loudness, then the 2275 is the ticket, just my 2c worth

Oh and the 2275 is just as pretty as the 2325, IMO, just on a slightly smaller physical scale
