Only known issues
#1 Stereo lamp will not illuminate probably just a bulb
#2 knob is missing from Scope , Scope still functions and pot turns , needs new knob
#3 screws are missing from top of cage, cage is stable , so no big deal
#4 all inputs work and all stages work, the only piece not tested is phono input,
#5 some of the pots for the controls could use a good cleaning, nothing out of the norm for this old of a unit. everything works
 
Not mine. Why the bashing guys? This unit is app 34 years old. It looks tarn good, still works and if it was "truly" mint do you think it would not have been snapped up?

There are NOT that many of these around,there were NOT that many of these made.Just my humble opinion, we'll see where it ends up at.
 
I think the issue is that he's double selling it. He can dicker with a CL buyer if he doesn't get his price on eBay, or wait until the eBay price surpasses his CL price, and dump the CL buyer. Not illegal, but a dubious practice.

Hence the expression "double-dealing"...

Did you notice how the listed faults are "no big deal" and "nothing out of the norm" I have to wonder if they were "no big deal" when he was negotiating to purchase the unit! Otherwise a nice unit and a fair price in today's monster receiver market.

That moron is getting bashed because he deserves it. Because the unit is old doesn't mean it's OK to call it mint when it ain't. It still powers up, but it's missing pieces and it has issues, which means it ain't like new which means it ain't "mint".:bash:

I just don't see anything wrong with trying to sell something you own in two different locations. I mean, he is trying to sell it, right? It's not double-dealing, it's selling.

The seller is a "moron" and should be bashed for adding the word "mint"? Pretty harsh. I'd say that would more likely apply to someone expecting a "mint" 2500 for $1500; after 40-odd years, there are likely only a few truly mint examples of this receiver around...

That would be true if the eBay listing were a "Buy it Now". Since the eBay is an auction, both buyer and seller are entering into an agreement as soon as a bid is made. This character wants to have his cake and eat it too, and doesn't seem to care who he screws in the process.

Words have definitions. The scarcity of the item in question does not change the definition of the word. I am quite certain I wouldn't do business with this shady fellow.
