Marantz 2500 mint!

Couple of things to note from a long time 2500 owner.

Good luck finding an original scope knob.

The stereo light better be the bulb. If the multiplex IC is shot, you will need another front end to find the chip as it is NLA.

I haven't followed 2500 prices recently but $1,500 seems high for a unit with these issues. Of course we don't know the condition of the main filters which if shot are difficult to replace as originals are also NLA.

I just don't see anything wrong with trying to sell something you own in two different locations. I mean, he is trying to sell it, right? It's not double-dealing, it's selling.

The seller is a "moron" and should be bashed for adding the word "mint"? Pretty harsh. I'd say that would more likely apply to someone expecting a "mint" 2500 for $1500; after 40-odd years, there are likely only a few truly mint examples of this receiver around...

Expecting truth in advertising is moronic? Because his holy grail fantasy receiver is old, he should be allowed to fudge words? You say there are likely only a few examples of truly mint 2500's around. THOSE can be called "mint". The guy we're talking about has no business using that word. Yeah, buyer beware applies, but that proclamation of "mint" is intentionally misleading. You go ahead and buy from him, smarty pants. Just don't complain about how you got screwed on AK. I'll be waiting.

I do not think these words mean what he thinks they mean.
