Dear all, I am trying to restore 4270...currently only two main front (L+R) speakers work (out of 4 sets possible: front main, front rear, remote front and remote rear). I connected an oscilloscope to the ones NOT working, and there seems to be audio signal without LOAD (no speakers connected). As soon as I connect speakers, there is NO SOUND from the three remaining sets of speakers. What could this be? How to troubleshoot? I have been wrestling with this for months and no luck. 2 separate issues.
Main and remote each have a relay. Do you hear a click when each is turned on and off?
Front and rear only work in quad mode.
Is the switch in the back set to 4X?
In quad mode, do you have the front controls set to create a quad type output? Matrix mode or some such?
Are all the jumpers in the back?
When you say "restore", what do you mean? Electronic work? What have you done?
