Marantz 4400 - broken PS connector

Just got this 4400, and was about to work on it. However the connector is broken and someone patched pin 2 directly to the board.

Would anyone have suggestions on the best way to fix this? Ideally I think I should look for a new connector.

Well, that sucks! Maybe it's the one that likes to arc out? Usually it does that under the pin side against the pc board though. I've never had to replace one of these so wouldn't have a new part that would work but there may be one with correct spacing. Good luck finding a used one!

Yeah that's the sparky one. Instead of pulling it out and scraping off the carbon traces the smart guy just bypassed the whole thing. It doesn't look safe and I am not turning this thing on for now. I asked if anyone had one on bartertown let's see!

If it is just a cut wire you should be able to solder it back on.

Hi Tony,

Thank you for looking into this, much appreciated! It is one wire but more than a cut wire. The male pin is missing and the corresponding pad is missing from the board, damaged by the wire that had been soldered directly into it. If I have a male pin to install I would glue it in place and bridge it to the next component like the 1500V diode, while maintaining the original connector functionality.

I am adding a picture of the current work around, as well as the current molex with the missing wire that is now connected directly to the board. The PS is working and I was able to get a nice cotton candy on the scope, but I am thinking if I can keep things more OEM and without that ugly wire loop.
