Marantz 4400 no lights.....?

If you look at the scat......it(G001) is drawn near the power outlets of the unit. The power switch itself just has a bypass cap.

I have put in spec lamps(not LED's)......but, with the faceplate on....it looks kinda' dim.............the transparent faceplate plastic is tinted a bit........

I have replaced all ceramic caps, electrolytic caps and all semiconductor on P800 board. Somehow a lot of weird things happened before I did the replacement. I also saw two caps besides the rectifier sparked like fireworks.

With a reliable power supply I can easily trace any problems. Now it works fine tested with rogers ls3/5a.

I need to check the phono board now, right channel doesn't give any sound.

Buy a double tape and architectural tracing paper and replace the velum diffusor. Most likely it's already tinted.

The 4400 is one tough son of a gun to work on and the 65 pounds is a back breaker....plus the high voltage can knock you on your ars... I use mine for surround sound HT.... With a good source and speakers they are well the extra effort for the two extra channels.

And then you have the added "cool factor" of scope....

The 4400 scat is flamin' awful to study........by far the biggest baddest scat out there!!!!!!!!!!
