Marantz 500 NOS Faceplate & Door Received Today!!!!!!

I have an owner’s manual too... some really good info in there....

Used to be able to get copies on the auction site...

Just did a little research on the auction site. There is a scammer selling “NOS” Marantz parts. Simply impossible he has multiple identical rare NOS parts.

NOS stands for New Old Stock, not “I just manufactured a bunch of parts and pawn them off as original vintage”

Here is what I ended up doing for the temp comp diodes,

I hope this works ok, If anyone has an idea on how to improve this I am open to it. I used 3 1N4148 for the SZ51066K and 2 1N4148 for the MZ2361. I placed a mica insulator on the heat sink with compound under it and bed them in compound on top of it, to keep the solder joints from shorting on the heat sink. I also bent the terminal strip mounting tab and the diodes so that when I tightened the mounting screw the diodes are held very tight against the heat sink.

Yes it worked for me, that amp has been in use for almost a year now. The trick is to be sure you insulate them from the heat sink so they don’t short out while having good thermal contact with the heat sink.
