Marantz 5220 pause button problems

Hello any techs that could shed a light on my pause button will not lock down I’ve tried cleaning and lubing but looks like a spring loaded metal clip is not engaging

Did you ever get any answers to your query? I have the same issue on my Marantz 5220 and will begin investigating it today. From what I have read it is a dirt, spring, tang lock and lubricant issue. I use lithium grease on metal-to-metal surfaces and general cleaning in most cases. I'll try this approach today after first removing the tape mechanism from the rest of the deck.

My Marantz 5220 pause problem was solved by moving the spring, lubricating the metal to metal connections and bending the tang lock back to its correct position.
