Marantz 6300, want one how?

i've seen one 6320 locally in serbia for 2.300 euros...:( is this the same thing as 6300, what's the difference?
The 6320 is the armless 6300 and would be fitted with a different arm and is a completely manual table. The 6320 is worth a few bucks but the arm could be much more of the price in that offering. Don't know what arm is on the table or the prices in Serbia.

Here are a couple 6320s, one with the ubiquitous SME 3009 Series II Improved and one with the stellar Magnepan Unitrac I.

...roksan nima tonearm...

That tonearm is about 110,000 RSD, under 1000 US new and the table isn't anything special other than it says Marantz on it.

Here's one but I think it's missing the dust cover. That's a decent price for a 6300 around here.

BTW: I bought one new in 1977 for CDN $349.95

Put this in dollars and sense forum. links aren't supposed to be in the general forums. That is way expensive for the performance and about right for the added Marantz tax. Starting to make some seriously good equipment look like the way to go but those wanting Marantz can't make the change.

My brother just got me hooked on Bosch this week! I recognized the TT right off when I saw just the right front corner. Haven’t seen enough episodes yet to determine the model number. I’m guessing he’s driving Ohm speakers? I just finished season 1 last night. LOL

I have a model 6110. Not in rotation currently. It runs a little slow, so I'm thinking it's probably belt time. How's it compare to the 6300? I apologize to the OP if it seems I'm hijacking your thread.

Never seen that arm less Marantz.

There's a 6300 on the grandrapids michigan craigslist. Looks minty for ....gulp $1700. Also a 6100 listing.

I love mine but, it’s not completely stock. Ive added vibration dampening feet, wired in a new interconnect and polarized AC plug, Ortofon azimuth adjustable head shell and a Goldring Eroica MC cartridge. Ive ordered a new clear dust cover thats due anytime now. It’s plugged into a McIntosh C52 preamp and, I think it sound great and has quite a bit of character.

I went and checked one out locally a few days ago. It's in pretty rough shape. Missing a fair amount of finish on the wood along the front and top and it has a P-mount cart in a 1/2" adapter which would have to go.

The guy was nice enough but he wouldn't budge from his $1,200.00 asking price. I even showed him the completed listings for them on Reverb showing what they actually sold for, not the ridiculous prices people start at. (Most were in the $600 - $800 range in similar condition.)

The "Marantz Tax" is alive and well. Haha

These prices are solidly in the high performance turntable with separate tonearm, LOMC cartridge and SUT price range.
Like the Kenwood KD-500 or 600, SME, Grace, Black Widow, etc and cartridges to match. Way more sound, but NO Marantz name and not the looks of the 6300/6320. Or some Thorens TD-160 Super/TD-125 with SME arms or whatever. But someone stuck on a brand matched system just can not go that way.

The Unitrac on the 6320 above is now on either a KD-500 or KD-600. I seem to have tripped over the Unitracs after having one for years and Hose53 coerced me to buy that KD-500 that Tom found in WI a few years ago on CL. The Thorens TD-125/SME is from a vintage console someone had for sale, MCM beauty with Quad gear. But that table would be in the 1000 and a bit range, too. These tables are badassed tables.

Currently I'm using a Project/One labeled, CEC-built turntable in my secondary system. It is quite similar to the Marantz and I'm pretty sure it has the same tonearm. This one cost me $65.00. I'm perfectly happy keeping this one, as well as my $1,200.00.

Those Marantz decks are beautiful for sure but from what I've read, they are pretty mediocre performers.
