Marantz 8B help needed!

Unfortunately, I don't have the tools to measure the unit except my Fluke tester. Is it enough to start?

No, which is why people recommend replacing the electrolytic capacitors and the bumblebee capacitors to eliminate the risk. Again, save the original parts if you are concerned about it losing the value of original state.

Well, I will use the unit for a while and if it fails on the way then to pack and sending out for repairs. Any good technician near ZIP 20886? Unfortunately, Terry DeWick is retired.

Terry DeWick passed away last year. Continued use of the amplifier in it's original condition, even after being advised not to, is not...........

Seem folks here on AK in and around the Baltimore area speak well of "Just Audio" so I think you're heading in the right direction

Baltimore people - anyone used Just Audio in Parkville?

Have several pieces needing repair Marantz 4270 - no RR channel (preamp issue) Luxman R-1120 - one channel faint an uncontrolled by volume (believe also preamp) Harman/Kardon 330c - deoxited the controls, and it never powered up again - go figure! I think all of these are over my head although...
