OK, I finally have the transformer welded together and mounted in the amp.
On 230 vac without DBT, I see 9W consumption in standby, a bit high, but probably due to extra losses following the disassembly and welding of the transformer?
I have no reference of the original SBY power needs.
When I switch on the amplifier, it comes out of protection after a few seconds, using about 25W of power when idling -> I guess that's OK?
So it seems that the transformer is doing what it should, however there is a very loud 50 Hz hum.
I'll dip the transformer in varnish and see whether that will bring the noise down to an acceptable level.
I'm not very keen to already load the amplifier to test it, as the transformer has even my desk vibrating a bit.
The display is working, but faintly. To be checked afterwards if all the rest is working too.
