Marnatz dilemma...to buy or not to buy?

I have a chance to pick up some beautiful Marantz gear tonight. I do not own any vintage Marantz gear just a newer SR-96 and a tape deck. I want to know if for some reason I am not happy with the gear if it will be relatively easy to at least get what I will be putting into it financially out of it. Here are the pieces and cost:
Model 104 Tuner...$50.
Model 2220B Receiver...$85.
Model 2220 Receiver...$70.
Model 2245 Receiver...$150.

Should I dicker?
Any help would be appreciated.

It's all pretty low end of the spectrum gear but with the way Marantz has been going lately it may not be that bad of a deal.

I think you pay a little bit high for them. If you really want them then it is ok otherwise I'd recommend you to wait until a better opportunity drops in.

Are Marantz tuners of poor quality...or just that the other receiver are far more desirable?

Tuners are usually cheap-receivers aren't.

Well I went with the intention of buying everything and bought just the tuner. The 2245 sounded very good but wasn't in the cosmetic condition that would warrant that kind of pricing. The seller told me that he had the other items all but sold already but was honoring the 1st come first served rule. In retrospect, I probably should have bought all of it.

The 2245 is the only one i'd pick up. 2245 has a great reputation and is a fine receiver.

Glad ya got the tuner though.

You did well not to load up on lower end models. Better gear will present itself and at much better prices.

I think you did good. I'd pass on everything but maybe the tuner. Good eye.

The 104 will match up nicely to a 1060.

The tuner is ok. The rest are not worth the asking price.

Do they have wood cases? If they do, then the prices are ok.

No wood but they are all sold at the prices in the first post. Only lasted 24 hours. Go figure.
