Maybe a dumb question but can you bridge a receiver?

how does it sound ? if it sounds good to your ears then thats all that really matters

I really like it. The only other reciever I have owned was a Yamaha surround sound from the 90s. Not exactly a music dedicated machine. Lasted a good long time but something went wrong with it and i got rid of it. Static or distortion of some kind coming through all channels and outputs. It had moved with me a million times and all the speaker boxes were either busted up or the particle board stuff they were made out of was disintegrating.
 
I personally like the Kenwood Basic Line for pre amplifier Basic C2a or the Basic C1 for the amp The basic M1 or the (my favorite) Basic M2a 220 watts per channel 8 ohms you can still find them for a reasonable price and they sound very good

when using A/B your splitting watts between them so you get 30 watts A and 30 watts B equals 60 watts

Well not exactly. In most receivers using both A and B speakers connects them in parallel and the speakers take their portion based on their characteristics. Lower impedance would mean more power as electricity follows the path of lest resistance. A parallel connection is like hooking both sets of wires to the same A speaker output.

On a few receivers, the A and B speakers are connected in series which means the power goes through one speaker and then through the other speaker.

Since you only have one pair of speakers, using A+B just isn't something you need to do.
 
look into the Kenwood Basic line its not considered VINTAGE although I'm not sure how old a device has to be to be considered Vintage but here Pryor to 1980's is what I think vintage is anyway there are lots of guides with instruction on modifying them not hard to do and they do sound nice

Pretty sure my Kenwood is in series. With A+B if you don't have speakers connected to both channels none of them will work. I was just wondering if you could bridge the channels together. But it isn't going to give me more wattage then what it is already. Higher ohms in series means less power right? Thanks for the info though!

I think anything older than 35 years is reasonably "vintage". It's not the "classic" look of the 70's but it's still 1983-85.
