MC 30 and MC 225?

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that the small signal tubes in these Mac amps tend to have a very large impact on the overall sound. And in each of my Mac amps I have arrived at a slightly different mix to achieve my "desired sonic happy place", or for you acronym fans, DSHP.

In my MC30's I'm running Sylvania 7025's, RCA Cleartop 12AU7, RCA 12BH7A, a JJECC83S, RCA 5U4GB & Tung Sol 6L6G big bottle reissues (6L6GC spec & a GREAT tube)
In the 240's I have RCA Black Plate 12AX7's, GE 5814 Triple Mica's, RCA12BH7A's & GE 6L6GC's
In the 225 I have RCA Black Plate 12AX7, RCA Cleartop 12AU7's, GE 12BH7A's & Westinghouse 7591A's

I honestly don't think you could go wrong with the 225 based on what you have to drive.

I listened to lots of combos over many, many months. One change at a time. I settled on what I liked. In my setup.

I will say that the GE 6L6GC is my pref over RCA Blackplates.
