Mc2300 fans

Coincidentally when the amp in question (left 18”sub amp ) fan shuts off sends a pop ..backward through the input ? To the center stereo 15” woofer amp .
I switched sides with the subs ( ran longer speaker wire to cross to the left and right sub amps ) and the driver cards switched sides in the amp in question. Nothing changed but the pop seemed fainter .

I may just reconfigure the whole set up and pull this amp for a full autopsy . I have a couple other macs i can put on woofer duty and place the two cool running 2300 on sub duty. See how it all acts after that .
I have spare every kind of drivers . May as well have a spare amp . Like having an extra race engine in the trailer.
 
Trying to decipher your issue.....

The only fan that comes on is the amp for the LH sub woofer, but the popping noise comes from the LH main speaker NOT the subwoofer?

What are you using for a crossover?
 
Jbl 5234a with 4430 cards . Then the low signal goes to a jbl bx63a which then goes to the woofer amp and mono to the sub amps . I’m probably going to go straight to the bx from the preamp this time due to possible loop problem.
 
Never did use any JBL pro stuff, EAW and EV yes.....

What is your AC line supply discipline.......with all those amps drawing power building and designing the supply is a discipline.

It sounds like your active crossover is picking up the transient and sending it to the stereo amp.
 
Part of that discipline is making sure your signal carrying interconnects are not only well shielded but away from the associated AC cords.

Transient suppression also goes to how and what your AC cords are plugged into, I would always try to seperate the low level signal devices, EQs, time delays, mixing boards, and yes speaker active speaker crossovers as far apart from the high current drawing amps as much as possible......separate runs to the breaker box was not out of the question.
 
Uses one wall outlet .. for now . I have two 20 amp services to the back . Was a big project . Still have to hook it to the power pole outside.
I use a furman sequencer and a mcintosh power source / bar . Really surprised i havent blown a breaker yet. When the bass hits down in the 20 range you would swear the whole room has turned to a liquid state like your sitting on a waterbed.
I have since taken the whole rig down and reconfigured it . I go from the c46 to the 5234a to the biamps . And the bx63a is fed by another output (1) on the c46 to eliminate the loop or back feed whatever it was . Gave the sound an even blacker background.
I pulled the middle stereo 2300 and moved it to the left rack (poor back ) . And in the middle stereo position i put a very minty mc2150 . Any time i rewire and have wires left over is a good thing . Incredible sound.

The Sick 2300 will get a new life soon as i get a chance . Its worth it . Its cosmetically at least an 8.5 or 9/10
 
My wires in behind albeit numerous have zones to live in . The furman hangs on the wall behind the cabs so my power wires go straight down to the floor and up to the furman . Speaker wires are suspended in the air to the speakers and the signals obviously spider as best as possible behind the gear . 90degrees and all that.
Would be easier if manufacturers picked certain sides for their power cords . But thats why i have the amps with a foot of separation to any sources/ preamp.
