MC30 tubes

I have the 6L6 TS reissue from Jim McShane. I think they sound very good in my 30's. Msybe I should get another quad for inventory.

Gotta try some 6384 tubes with an adapter, the last tubes you will ever need.

As long as you are happy installing a pair of tubes that together draw 600ma more filament current than than the tubes designed for. And lower gain. At three to four times the price.

X3, do those larger bottle 6L6g transfer any more heat to the power transformer? Just wondering.
If they sound as good as GE in your opinion, I may have to spring for a quad.

No hotter IMO. It's a taller bottle as well so I think convection is working in their favor.

Received a quad from Jim. Glad he had some left.
I’ll save them for a rainy day, the GE’s were a NOS 2 matched pair. I’ll probably be EOL before those.
