Mc402 Vs. Mc452

All good as long as you are set......would not be good to miss out!!

You will need muscle to unpack it and set it up, those boxes are bigger than you think, and the amp heavier than you think....But i know you know that....
I have a furniture dolly to save the stress on these old bones..

Thanks! I am stoked for the drive tomorrow! (You indirectly put me up to this as much as Kev!)
Driving to pick up new or new to you equipment is just as fun as the installation and the power on. Then hearing the first notes and must listen beloved songs that facilitated the purchase. Makes this hobby worth it.

There is something special to be said for picking up versus home delvery. The hands on anticipation has always been more enjoyable for me . Enjoy your fine new amp purchase and let the rest of us live vicariously through your acquisition.

Do not leave without a taste of what is to come with an initial listen. It gets better in your home.

Drove to Audio Classics in a pouring rain, and the sun came out as I pulled into the A.C. parking lot.
I was greeted by Ernie Schleider, who asked: 'Are you the guy that I am waiting for?'.
I replied in the affirmative.
The box for this amp is HUGE! I could stick a boxed Mc2300 inside of it.
It is secured by 3 very heavy gauge steel straps, and there is a generous amount of high density foam for the 'bedding'.
I'll post more photos as the installation unfolds, but for now, here is the amp in my car about to leave for the journey home...IMG_2080 copy.jpg

Please make sure you have a friend to help you get the amp unbolted and moved off the pallet and situated where you're going to place it. I was able to wrangle my 302 myself by going very slow and deliberate, having things setup and ready to go placement wise, and a couple of "sweat towels" handy, which I always recommend. But the 452 is a much heavier beast so be prepared. Good luck. Looking forward to your feedback.
I took it out of the car with a furniture dolly. My wife skinned her palm on one of the steel straps as I was warning her about them a second too late. I haven't removed the amp from the base, as I am decompressing a bit from the 300mi./500Km drive with a glass of vino.
I'm going to take my time setting up this baby....

Wooo Hooo!!! Look at that!! Most excellent!! Cant wait to hear the report on the sound...
I'm going to need a bit of assistance hauling this iron around, (TWO Behemoths) so I'm going to set it up, and have it running tomorrow

Good idea. Recall, I tore my bicep tendon in my right arm when I was swapping the MC2300 for the MC2600 in my main rack. VERY painful. My days of strolling about with an MC2300 in each hand are apparently behind me.

Amen, Brother!

I remember setting up my two MC501's. I also remember needing help. Those things are heavy!

A friend, and fellow audio nut by the name of John, brought his handtruck over so we could get them in the house from the garage.

It was quite the wrasslin' match.

Congrats on getting that beast home and in one piece!
