McIntosh 2100 with preamp??

The pre is sweet - warm, non-fatiguing, "musical." Tons of inputs and controls. The better of the two IMO. Amp is a workhorse, stabile with difficult loads but doesn't compare sound wise with their others. Excellent price for the two if in very good shape.
 
The seller is flaky, i told him i'd buy them last thursday and I'd like to hear them playing. I can't get anything but the pics sent to me.
 
For $600, I'd be all over those like a hungry shark! Flaky dude or not, you'll get a chance to see them in person, for a steal of a price.
 
I just got back and left a deposit. They are only fair cosmetically but with a little work the pre will be looking great. The amp base is pretty well pitted. It's ok though, i'm going back for them after work. Probably not flaky like I first suspected, he has 3 little ones running around. I know how that goes and I only have 1.
 
Good score! Seems like in my market, most Mac stuff is sensibly priced. :( How are the faceplates? The paint on these is really easy to fix if they are bubbling at all; my amps ended up looking super after a little help from the boys over in the Mac forum. :thmbsp: McIntosh still sells many parts for these older units -- I replaced the acetate behind the power meters, and they had what I ordered at my house within days. Great service!

Congrats -- you got yourself a super combo for a really good price! Hope you enjoy them thoroughly; the only problem with buying Macs is that you will inevitably want more of them. :D

Oh yeah -- lets see those babies!
 
The face plate on the pre is in great shape, a few tiny bubbles near the top, but you have to look closely. The wood case has issues, some deep scratching and stains. The amp's chrome isn't too impressive but otherwise it looks good.

I picked up both MC2100s and the C28. I also have a MC2105 at home that is probably going to be finding itself a home in at an AKers house in GA.
 
Good god man -- nice instant rig. :thmbsp: Did you really get that second 2100 for $115?! Sounds like you are in the karma zone -- head out buy up some lottery tickets.
