McIntosh Efficiency Quiz

Let's see who has the most efficient $$$ Rig. Add up the total cost of your entire complete System. Include everything but music & movies. Then divide by the power in watts.

ie: $25K spent on everything, one pair of MC501's.

25K divided by 1000 = efficiency rating of 25

In this particular quiz, the lowest number would be most efficient & the winner.

ah, but should we use rated RMS watts or true measured peak capabilities?

using 1000 for a pair of MC501s I'm "currently" (pun) at 19.5
Once I get my paws on the MCD500 then I'm sliding towards 25:thmbsp:

Rated power is close enough for the quiz.

No future purchases included. :nono:

Well lets see, 2-275's run in mono, a 352, & a 207=1400watts/$35,000 total rig. I come up with 14.58333333333333333333333333.........
:scratch2: Emmett

With my main system ( that is what we are talking, right?)

501's/C2200/MCD500/Linn LP-12/LS360's and WWcables

I am at 18.15...

44.3 with Dewick upgrade costs. Not the lowest but I have Klipsch and a small listening room so any more power would destroy my hearing.

I'm at 46.6, though I'm using my purchase price in CDN $ on some items that came across the border when the exchange rate was far worse than it is now.

Approximately $80,000 divided by 2400 = 33.3. My wife will be so proud of me when she reads this and sees what a bargain I got.:D
