Love the pic of the JFK lp and the Nak BX-125...

I'll bet they're fully priced or more on everything audio as the seller knew to use "McIntosh" in the title.
Nice stuff, but I doubt any "scroes" :D

I'm going to go, just to torture myself. I've been to a few estate sales recently and if the mcintosh gear survive the first day, some of these estate businesses drop the price the 2nd day.

If mcintosh gear survives to half-priced day it's only because it was grossly overpriced day one. Many e-sales have a bid box that they go to prior to dropping to half price. That's often a good option, especially if being first in the door at half price day is not realistic. (of course that means being there a day prior to that.)

My rule of thumb: If you want The Good Stuff (tm) that is uncommon and *everybody* wants you gotta beat the dealers and flippers that get in line an hour before day one opening time and be willing to pay at least a fair price. If you are looking for deals on good stuff that happens to be either common or often overlooked sleeper gear then best time is first thing on half-price day. If you want average stuff or small niche market stuff at bottom dollar prices scope it out anytime but be there when they are wanting to close shop.

cubby, my experience so far is the first flipper shows up around 3am. First person there starts a list and has to stay with that list til they open or hand out numbers. Numbers usually get handed out about 30 minutes before the sale is listed to start and they NEVER let anyone in early. (this is IL, MD they let people in early) In IL they also restrict the number of people they let in. Usually 15-20 to start, maryland just lets them all come in and it is a cluster fudge.
One firm in IL (can't remember which one) does 90% off the last hour of the last day.
