McIntosh in "The Departed"

Watch for the McIntosh gear in a scene, later in the movie, in Colin Sullivan's apartment. Can you identify all the McIntosh gear? I can't, It's too modern for me.

When I first saw this thread I thought it had to do with liquidating my Mac equipment when I am gone....whew!

I have decided to take it with me when I am departed.....some interesting logistics involved in this.... :scratch2:

I just saw tonight and nearly jumped out of my seat when that scene came on. I believe it was a MVP861 (for sure on that one as you could see the label when his girlfriend put a cd in), a MR85, and a MA6500.

This is the second Jack Nicholson movie that features McIntosh audio gear. Check out _As Good As It Gets_ for another one.

If you like The Departed, you should check out Infernal Affairs, the Hong Kong film on which it is based. High end stereo equipment is more prominently featured in that film, where one of the two central characters is an unabashed audiophile.

McIntosh in "Goodbye Charlie"

tcdriver,

I also watch the audio gear in movies and in the 60's Tony Curtis, Debbie Reynolds, Walter Matthau movie, "Goodbye Charlie", the character Charlie lives on the ocean in Malibu and on the shelves in a number of scenes is a McIntosh MC240 or MC275. Plus, I think there's a Sherwood tube tuner and an old reel to reel. I can't remember now if there was also a McIntosh preamp, and a turntable, but the MC is very obvious on a shelf in the background.

Cheers,

Bambi B

We own a copy of "Infernal Affairs". We may watch it this weekend if my wife is not too busy working.
