McIntosh MC275 MK VI Clone

Probably hard to control for one. It would be like playing whack-a-mole, shut down one vendor and another will pop up. Also possibly they want to avoid the "Streisand effect" by calling attention to it.

Ultimately I think people that are shopping for a McIntosh are going to buy a McIntosh, not a copy of it. Same as people who buy expensive hand bags or watches or whatever want the genuine article, and people who just want something functional might buy a copy. The people buying copies were never going to buy the genuine expensive one, and the people buying the expensive ones wouldn't be caught dead with an imitation.

Hear, hear. Case in point>Me. I do own a cheap used OG MC40 that Gadget helped me resurrect. Still looking for a mate..........cheapish
 
Those of us who buy the "parts cars" and bring them back to life are a somewhat different breed :)

personally I enjoy bringing things back to life anyway, so just buying a new amp, real deal or fake, just isn't particularly satisfying.

As the 4 mono configured doing duty for my living room`s reference stereo`s tri-amplified Mid & HF 275LEs been flawlessly (all original factory tubed) have been doing since my brand new purchase & installation in 2010 have flawlessly proven here !

My MM savings bank account would have preferred the purchase of just two, configured (each L/R amp had one channel for mid and the other channel for HF fed from a dedicated 10 ga. 20 amp circuit breaker fed 120 V circuit, but economically sadly, the individual channels feeding the L/R MF/HF multi-drivers of the initially ea. 90 watt per channel configuration feeding the Mc. XRT-30 speaker system`s line arrays failed to keep up with the (2) MC-1201 rewired for 240 V AC SS mono-blocks handling 80 Hz. on down to the bottom octave power house big boys, so I had to order 2 more after initially cranking up the system with various HQ SACD/MFSL CDs.

Never owned any of the original 275 versions to compare, but have zero complaints/reluctance on purchase on/of the LE versions excellent SQ transparent performance, or exceptional many high hrs. of total reliability !

However during the summer months 16 KT-88s and 28 small signal tubes can really talk to my 3.5 ton HVAC heat pump`s living room`s nearby wall mounted thermostat with the resultant undesired elevated power bill !

One single preamp for the living room`s system, a quite excellent sounding Integra A/V/P that my 4K OPPO Universal player feeds from it`s pure audio only 2nd HDMI output jack.
No video signals of any type passes into or through the Integra.
All type of video signals are externally switch selected on a 4 K 5X1 HDMI selector and sent to the Sony theater grade digital true 4K projector and also 1080P res. hardwired sent to my house`s 3 bedroom`s flatscreens, and attached work shop , and attached car garage`s flat screens.

The audio from the living room`s A/V rack is independently selectable stereo audio from the Integra`s audio, and is also a very HQ hardwire distributed fed to those above mentioned locations, + a sunroom via a Mc. C-37 preamp also located in the A/V rack for analog L/R stereo signal selection.

Each room has its own stereo system to select from the C-37`s selected feed, or locally the room`s stereos can also select from their tuner, flat screen`s OTA tuner TV audio.

Yeah, my house is a "Man cave"!
Never had a wife, and currently at 71 yrs., not likely, so no concerns for electronics, wires & their placement.
 
Well....Paypal's money was refunded. lol. What the scammers do is get a legit tracking number in your city and use it as proof of delivery. eBay's on to it and I had documentation to back it up if I needed. They are doing the same thing under a different username. Don't be thickheaded like me. Sadly, I won't be posting any measurements.

On the good side, I found a mate for my MC40, so I'm impatiently waiting to get it from Mecum. There was a big McIntosh auction last weekend.
