I'm sure they're great. But I like the idea of getting another 225 both to pair in mono, plus if one goes under I have a backup, or I can stick it in a second system. A little more flexibility.

@apachef1 can comment on the mono MC225s as he's done it. I've done that only with MC240s, which was quite pleasing indeed.
 
If I had 60’s to begin with I very well might feel differently.

The bottom line is that I have no real desire to add or change anything. If something pops up locally in correct restored condition I’ll certainly consider but the hunting bug is squashed.
 
Had a pair of MC60s at the same time as a MC225, all recent restorations by me. I kept the Mc225 and sold the 60s and have never looked back.
 
Nice pair of A116's locally that intrigue me. But they're basically the same as MC30's, right?

Yes I'm quite intrigued but mostly from a collectable perspective. And generally speaking, I'm not really a collector.

As for the 225, I asked the seller about it and while he indicated that some work had been done on the PS, overall it sounded like it would need a more thorough going through. I made an offer lower then his ask and he declined. Which is fine with me. I really don't want to spend that kind of money on gear unless it can be confirmed that it's had enough restoration by a well known tech that it's plug and play. Obviously things might arise that would require attention down the road, but I'm not into spending the market rate for a 225 only to have to turn around and send it off to AC for another several hundred dollar plus investment.
