Mcintosh seems to be now shipping

I noticed that Music Direct and Crutchfield now not saying in store only for McIntosh, and now just says free shipping and 60 day returns.
Very tempting, so now your only risk is the return cost.
I contacted Audio Advice and World Wide Stereo and some selected McIntosh gear (at this time) is shipping. Free shipping including freight shipping is being offered. Some much for
your protected dealer network.

With the internet shopping Mcintosh has had to change their dealer policies. I don't remember the details but businesses like Clutch field have to meet some pretty stiff requirements in order to sell the limited number of Mcintosh models made available to them. You can't buy the top of the line tube or SS pre-amps, the HT processors, HT amps, the bigger Stereo and mono amps either. No 275's ether. The larger integrated amps and top of the line CD/SACD players aren't available either. Not sure about the Turntables , but I bet the same rules apply. Its a shame Mac doesn't make a 4K blu-ray player.

World is always changing. I’m pulling for McIntosh to adjust as needed to survive. There are only a few policies that I would like to see the company static.
Support for parts and older equipment
High quality builds
American excellence and in house manufacturing

I’m ok with whatever their sales policy needs to be to keep this up.

They're doing okay on the first two. However, the lifestyle stuff is made in China. In a perfect world they would kill off all the cheesy lifestyle stuff.

It's been this way for several years now. To @KentTeffeteller 's point, only certain entry level products are available by shipment plus many (or all) accessories such as IC cables, headphones etc. Higher line models are only available through McIntosh franchisees.

For now, until the flood gates open.

Well the MCD 7000 saved Mcintosh one time for sure. And I also believe having tube pre-amps has helped tremendously as they were out selling the SS units for quite a while. I wonder how strong the demand is for the 275 this year.

I understand Mac has built almost three times as many MC 3500 MK II as they did the original Mark 1. That surprises me. Of course I realize speakers are a lot more in-efficient now days and there are a lot of speaker models that can handle that kind of power. I guess if I were filthy Rich I would own 8 of them. 6 for the front channels of the HT system and two for the Stereo system. Probably be MK 1's for the Stereo system. Might as well have two spares, also. Its a dream and only play money.
