I have an chance to purchase a MC 2105 amp, MX 112 tuner/preamp, MQ 101 equalizer and ML 1C speakers. What is a good price and what do you think of this particular Mcintosh equipment?

Sam, She is asking me to make an offer. Audiogon puts the price for everything at about $1,650. More than I would be willing to pay.

McIntosh isnt cheap; $1500 for everything sounds fair to both parties.

Here's what I would figure off the top of my head. 800 for the amp, 300 for the Tuner-pre, 200 for the eq, 200 for the speaks. Its not a "score" but both of you would get a very fair deal.

Welllllll offer what you can afford to pay based on the info gained from the follow up posters. It's not like you want to lo-ball to flip the gear, is it?
You never know until you ask and what do you have to lose?????? Hmmmmmmmmmmm?????

I never like making an offer. I always make the seller give me a price and go from there.

Me either, but it sounds like a woman selling components that were or are her husband's or her's and she has no idea of what to ask. In that case I would just say $750 and go from there. LOL It's awkward at best, but there is a reason she isn't mentioning a price. It's one of those things that you would kick yourself when you find out they went for $800 to someone else.

I got my K-horns based on what I could afford, not the value. It just so happened that the seller was tired of entertaining offers based on him shipping them. I was local and probably way under his offers, but I could pick them up and place cash in hand. Convenience is priceless sometimes.
