MidCenturyModern For Sale thread

I found this thread today and now you have me drooling over a Barzilay console, and an estate sale that may or may not happen in the near future (Hollywood Hills) near me. The desk chair and small dresser behind it matches pieces I already have. I'm now Jonesen for them. They were designed by Milo Baughmann.
 
Heres a nice record cabinet, I believe it is a fisher component cabinet as I have the papers here, and there is no tube fisher stuff around anymore...I already bought the 9090db and the speakers :D

At the same place is a gorgeous rosewood dining set but they overloaded the buffet part and it needs new rails and its a little sun belched but it is signed and if it wasn't so much I would grab the whole set

Oooh...that's nice.

My mother has apparently seen the Fisher tambour-door record cabinet that matches the 1958 Contemporary and 1959 Contemporary II consoles. Unfortunately she doesn't remember where or when, or I'd be knocking on some doors. :D
 
Just got back from a trip to Chesapeake beach in MD. We answered a Craigslist ad for a 3 bay modern wall unit.
Seller called it teak, but its walnut. Very good condition, he says he bought it new from Scan furniture, a now closed area chain of stores
for modern and Scandinavian furniture and accessories.The wall unit was in VERY nice condition, price was great, we knocked it down and
put it in the back of our CRV and brought it home.

It'll go in the kitchen, replacing an old credenza that now there, but I can only fit 2 bays for the area I have in mind - I'll put the two shallow cabinets side by side at the top, put the drawers and deep cabinet at the bottom, and have some shelves in the middle for cook books and general display (that deep cabinet can stash our single malt and such!).

Anyway, it needs a light brush with steel wool to catch some small paint splotches, and a wipe down with orange oil and reassemble it.

Should be a good match for the extendable Danish table and chairs

You know those are comfy chairs, but I don't think I would want to own one. There are so many knock off versions that everyone has one and they're not eye catchers anymore...I want a Arne Jacobson Egg chair :D

Heres my find from the weekend. I really like the chair but I don't know if it can be saved. I was lucky and the original cushions were hid under 3 layers of upholstery and stuffing. The teak is very sun faded but I imagine some fine sanding and oil will bring it back but there is a broken piece of teak and I have no idea what that will cost to have duplicated.

I have to disagree with you here. You see mine as soon as you walk into my home and people comment on it all the time. Nobody mistakes it for a copy. :no:

I like your new chair, very nice. I don't think it will be difficult to repair properly.

LOl I dated a girl on that block in Skokie when I was in high school.... Oh those Niles West High school girls, sigh......
